What We Do And How it Works

THE PATH TO A HEALTHIER, HAPPIER YOU LIES IN YOUR DNA, AND WE ARE THE KEY THAT UNLOCKS YOUR CODE.

G2K offers two personal genetic services: PGX + Ancestry and Ancestry. Both services require submitting a saliva sample using our saliva collection kit.

Using your G2K App, enter your prescription medications, Over-the-Counters (OTCs), and supplements, you are able to run a PGx Report on efficacy and adverse reactions based upon Drug-to-Gene and Drug-to-Drug interactions.

By further adding your medical history and diet, you may run a PGx Report on Drug-to-Illness, Drug-to-Allergen and Drug-to-Lifestyle interactions. You may also manage your medication/supplement regimen with notification reminders, and track your daily nutrition and movement. Importantly, you may securely share these reports with your caregivers, healthcare providers and any family member(s) you choose.

Let’s say that again:  You can run as many reports as you need/want against as many drugs, supplements, foods, allergens, illnesses right from the G2K App on your smartphone, and get the results instantaneously!

This is only the beginning; there is much more to come.

FAQ

Our Lab – CLIA-certified & CAP-accredited

Ensuring the safety and accuracy of your test is a top priority at Gene2Know. All of our genetic testing is performed in laboratories that are certified as compliant with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) of 1988 and accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

Our lab technicians, geneticists and medical doctors are highly trained experts. We perform our tests at 4-times validation, which is twice the industry standard. This means that to ensure your results are accurate, we verify them four times.

Our labs use high-precision scanning to analyze and code not only targeted portions of your DNA (as do many tests available in the market), but instead we sequence, analyze and decode your ENTIRE DNA. This means that once we have your results, you will never need another DNA test again. You will have your entire genome at your fingertips.

How We Create Your Custom DNA Report

Using the results from our lab, we run your sequencing results against a huge databases of information, beginning with the PharmGKB database. The PharmGKB database is the industry database for all genomes and phenotypes that have been identified as having certain contraindications for medicine, supplements, allergens, illnesses, and food.

Still have questions about our lab or technology?

Here are just a few of the things people frequently ask about Gene2Know. If you don’t see your question here, get in touch with us.

What is a variant?

A genetic variant is an alteration in the DNA nucleotide sequence. A variant is what makes you unique. They can determine eye color, hair color, and also how you metabolize food and medicine, which is what we look at for our PGx Reports.

What is genotyping?

Your “genotype” is your genetic make-up. “Genotyping” is the process of determining the differences in an individual by analyzing the individual’s DNA sequence. We do this through a process called high-precision array scanning, which is the most advanced and detailed process for analyzing DNA available today.
